Calico Bar is coming to the Greater San Antonio area! According to a recently filed permit, the new bar is set to open on 11978 Leslie Rd. in Helotes.
Construction details include a July 2026 start date. Construction on Calico Bar is slated to wrap up in August of next year, according to the permit. The 650,000 dollar project will include a new bar facility consisting of approximately 11,798 square-feet. The facility will include restrooms, a seating area, a dance floor, a stage, and a storage area. A second floor will be provided and contain 1,598 square-feet.
At the helm of the new opening is Pedro (Pete) Pompa. What Now San Antonio briefly spoke with APCON Development LLC president, Abel Perez, about the upcoming opening. Perez confirmed the opening and put us in contact with Pompa, but we did not hear back from Pompa by the time of this publication.
There are not a whole lot of details about the new bar set to come to the Greater San Antonio region by way of Helotes.
There is currently a Calico Coffee in San Antonio, and the Calico Club. The latter was a local neighborhood bar active in San Antonio during the 1980s that is now reported to be closed. Perhaps the new bar coming to Helotes is a call back or in honor of the former Calico Club.
While the new Calico Bar doesn’t yet have an online presence, as excitement mounts for this new Helotes opening, we’re sure more details will surface on social media. So, keep your eyes peeled and your ears perked for the latest.
