Mellow Mushroom is planning an expansion this summer. It will open a new company-owned, 3,000-square-foot location at 733 Bullsboro Drive in Newnan, according to reporting by The City Menus.

The expansion comes after the company closed its Decatur location last summer to make way for a major refresh. The spot reopened in December as a company-owned location with a revamped space, reflecting the brand’s new dedication to an enhanced guest experience.

Founded in Georgia in 1974, Mellow Mushroom now operates about 160 locations, with more than 40 locations open in the state. The Newnan spot will model the new company-owned model, offering enhanced technology, menu additions and counter-service ordering.

The brand is known for its stone-baked pizzas, including the Super Pepp, Great White, Holy Shiitake and Pacific Rim. Other offerings include wings, salads, burgers, sandwiches and calzones.
