Local smoothie and acai shop Smooth Monkey is looking to expand to Uptown. It is planning to renovate a space at 500 West Trade St., according to a recent permit filing.
Smooth Monkey currently has locations in Plaza Midwood and Strawberry Hill. It serves acai bowls and an array of smoothies, including Berry Berry Keto, Breakfast on the Run and Choco-Coffee.
The brand emphasizes the use of fresh, natural ingredients, using “no ice, no syrup, no sugar,” according to its website.
An opening timeline for the Uptown location remains unclear. What Now Charlotte reached out to the ownership team but did not hear back prior to publication.
