Build-your-own pizza concept to open first Georgia location mid-April.

Rise Pies, a pizza restaurant, is opening a location at Lenox Square Mall in Buckhead at 3393 Peachtree Road.

The 1,000 square foot build-your-own pizza concept will be located in the Fashion Cafe food court, in the former space of Hovan Gourmet and also expanding into the space that used to be Taco Bell.

Pizzas will be cooked in a Woodstone Oven at 600 degrees and finished in 160 seconds.

“], President of Rise Pies, told What Now Atlanta (WNA) Friday that Youngstown, Ohio, where the company is headquartered, is a huge area for pizza as a result of a large population of Italian immigrants.

There are currently four Rise Pies locations in Florida, Ohio, and Illinois. The fifth location will open in Denver, and the forthcoming Atlanta location will be the company’s sixth. The location is slated to open in mid-April.

Rise Pies is part of the Chestnut Land Co. and Muransky Cos., owned by Eddie Muransky’s father Edward W. Muransky. The group is also the largest Auntie Ann’s Franchisee.

    I hope the pies are price pointed to keep the kids out of the food court. That mall has become a serious hangout over the years and I don’t like going there anymore. When I find I need something from there, I go early in the morning.

    Hopefully clearing out the lower price pointed quick bite spots will curb some of the foolishness. It’s such a beautiful mall.
