Lombardi Family Concepts is at it again, embarking on bringing the Greater Houston community a great new concept. The new restaurant is slated to open in the Galleria area at 4747 San Felipe St.
The address was once home to Yia Yia Mary’s Mediterranean Kitchen, but it closed during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
The Houston Business Journal reported that Lombardi Family Concepts brand Mar y Sol was to open in the Uptown building, a Houston-based sibling to the concept that has been serving Dallas since 2024. Mar y Sol offers a “culinary journey that spans the diverse and rich flavors of Latin America.”
But, What Now Houston spoke with Lombardi Family Concepts’ Director of Restaurants, Stefano Domenico Ferrero Muñoz, who confirmed that a new eatery is coming from the team, but it won’t be Mar y Sol.
“It’s going to be a Greek concept,” Muñoz said in a brief conversation over the phone before handing us over to the Vice President of Marketing for Lombardi Family Concepts, Laura McDonell.
McDonell attempted to connect me with their PR team to get further details for the article, but we did not hear back by the time of this publication.
While there are no details online available about the Greek concept, and no word on whether one of the current Lombardi Family Concepts will open a location in the Galleria area, we can all rest assured in knowing that the Lombardi team is cooking up something hot and fresh.
Lombardi Family Concepts is known for its array of dining offerings.
Founded by Italian restaurateur Alberto Lombardi in Dallas in 1977, the premier restaurant group’s portfolio expands to more than 40 distinct concepts across Texas and beyond with a focus on Italian, Mediterranean, and Spanish cuisine.
Lombardi Family Concepts restaurants include Taverna, Maison Chinoise, JOI, Lombardi Cucina Italiana, of course, Mar y Sol, and so much more.
“Alberto Lombardi, with over 45 years of experience in the restaurant industry, has earned a well-deserved reputation for creating truly exceptional dining experiences. The new Lombardi Family Concept is anticipated to open in the Galleria area at the Uptown building at 4747 San Felipe St. before the end of the year.
