Known best to the Greater Tampa Bay area as a franchisee of legendary taco franchise Taco Bell, JEM Restaurants is a restaurant operator “dedicated to running great restaurants by treating our team members and customers like family. We take pride in serving our communities through teamwork and collaboration.”
And the group is serving more and more communities in Central Florida. In December, JEM closed on 16 Taco Bell locations in the Sarasota area, which it acquired from another franchisee, and more recently, it has launched a new location in San Antonio, at 30171 State Road 52.
“We’ve had one full week of great sales and operations,” Don Willis, JEM’s VP of Real Estate and Development, told What Now on Tuesday. “San Antonio is a booming trade area, with quite a bit of development in the area. It’s been really impressive, the scale and scope of development—and that’s true of Florida generally. You see a lot of places going from cow pastures yesterday to 400-acre mixed-use developments tomorrow.”
JEM Restaurants now operates several dozen Taco Bells in the Tampa Bay area, and Willis says there are currently several more locations in the pipeline—though it’s too early yet to reveal where they are.
Taco Bell’s world-famous menu is currently featuring new offerings like the Jalapeno Honey Mustard Crispy Chicken Crunchwrap Slider, the Cantina Chicken Rolled Quesadilla, Steak & Guac Nacho Fries, and the Beefy Potato Load Griller. (Odds are, you already have your own favorite order.)
