Ryder System, Inc. filed the WARN notice with Iowa Workforce Development, which monitors plant closures and large-scale layoffs across the state.
The notice filed on April 8 stated that the workers will be laid off at the facility at 2280 Northeast Dr, Waterloo, IA 50703, United States. The layoffs will take effect on July 24, 2026. A report by KCRG stated that the layoffs are linked to the transition of ownership at the transportation site.
Ryder System, Inc. offers technology-based supply chain, fleet management, and transportation services to companies in North America. Ryder mainly operates as a third-party logistics (3PL) firm, assisting organizations in coordinating complex supply chain activities, from manufacturing and warehousing to final delivery.
