The popular Akron-based creamery is moving into the coffee market this year.

The team at Pav’s Creamery recently announced their new concept Pav’s Beanery will be opening at 2625 Easton Street in Plain Township. They plan to serve coffee from North Canton-based roastery M & H Beans. Owner Nik Pappas told What Now Columbus the project will be debuted around the end of the year.

“We’re an ice cream company expanding into a beanery,” Pappas said.

Pav’s Creamery has a long history in the Akron area and is known for award-winning kustard and gelato. The first shop opened in Portage Lakes, and the company has since been expanding into Green, North Canton, Cuyahoga Falls and Bath. The locations are still family-run today.

A menu has not yet been released, but in-house syrups, creaming and toppings will be made for the coffees. Brews made at M & H Beans include medium roast, dark roast, chocolate blends and beans roasted with dried fruit. While the shop will specialize in coffees, a few gelato flavors will also be served.

Their new coffee shop is being built just north of Canton, near the intersection of Easton Street and Middlebranch Avenue NE. This is close to Almost Heaven Ice Cream and Kraus Pizza. The Plain Township Parks Board of Trustees building is right across the street. Updates on construction can be found on the Pav’s Beanery Facebook page.
