Former professional athlete power couple to bring community-oriented workout to community-oriented neighborhood.
1040 Grant is filling up nicely.
Earlier this week, What Now Atlanta (WNA) reported that The Nest Nursery School is the first tenant of the development. Now, there is a second.
Oxstrength, a CrossFit Studio, will occupy a 3,500 square foot space in the building.

“] told WNA this week that he and his wife Lauren first discovered CrossFit five years ago, and as former college and professional athletes, loved the community aspect. They are both qualified instructors, and Ant has been the Head CrossFit Coach at Unit 2 CrossFit in Midtown for almost a year and a half. Together the couple started Team Oxstrength with the goal of helping people lead healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives.
“Atlanta is a melting pot of people from all over the country and the world, we are opening our gym with the hopes of bringing people together and creating a place where your whole family will feel welcome. ”
The gym will be opening as soon as the buildings renovations are finished. In the meantime, Team Oxstrength will be holding numerous free fitness events in Grant Park, which fitness enthusiasts may learn more about on Facebook and Instagram.
Clearly, Memorial Drive isn’t the only hot spot in the neighborhood. 1040 Grant along with residential development plans announced recently indicate a strong demand for more community oriented retail and real estate in the area.
What other types of development do you hope to see in Grant Park and the surrounding area? Tell us below…
This sounds great! We do not have a CrossFit Studio in Grant Park. I am definitely joining.
Cant wait ….. We’ve lived in the Grant park area for many years, and have been waiting for a new gym to open. Crossfit seems to be the new popular choice of exercise. Ant and Lauren seem to be our answer to getting back in shape. See you in Grant Park !!!
Well considering my back deck looks into 1040…I love the redevelopment but lets try to keep the big crowds out.
