Las Vegas Jerkys has been repping the Hawaiian Islands in the Ninth Island with its homemade jerky since the 90s. Now, the brand is embarking on opening a second location. According to a City of Las Vegas permit, the home of Islander Jerky & Karen’s Gourmet will open a new home inside the Mini Mall at Charleston at 3100 E Charleston Blvd, 104.
At the helm of the opening is long-time owner and founder, Kyrce Higa. What Now Las Vegas reached out to Higa to find out more details about the upcoming opening. What Now briefly spoke with Higa’s mom, who confirmed the opening, but didn’t hear back from Higa herself by the time of this publication.
“Las Vegas Jerkys has been family-owned and operated since 1991,” the Las Vegas Jerkys website reads.
“Home of Islander Jerky and Karen’s Gourmet cookies and bagel chips, we are located on the 3rd floor of the Plaza Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada.”
Las Vegas jerky history is deeply connected to tourism and Hawaii. Other iconic spots, like The Beef Jerky Store on Fremont Street, have served the area for over 20 years with a wide selection of Hawaiian/Japanese-style treats.
Las Vegas Jerkys is known for specializing in Hawaiian-style snacks. The store offers a variety of candies, dried fruit and veggies, jerky, nuts and seeds, seafood, and Karen’s Gourmet snacks. The shop also offers gourmet gift baskets.
Las Vegas Jerkys is anticipated to open its second location inside the Mini Mall at Charleston at 3100 E Charleston Blvd, 104 sometime this year.
