Major Perk Coffee, a cafe dedicated to making the world a little bit better one cup of coffee at a time, is working on its next chapter. The beloved Weatherford concept is bringing its delicious java and commitment to community to a new Fort Worth location, set to open early next year.

Founded by Bret & Rachael Watson, Major Perk Coffee will be setting up shop at 1405 S Cherry Lane. Rachael Watson very kindly made some time to fill What Now Dallas in on introducing the cafe to a new neighborhood. The Fort Worth location, she explains, was specifically requested. “The White Settlement Chief of Police came into my store and asked me how he could get Major Perk to come to his great city.” she says. “He said that it was unfair that half of his staff brings in good coffee from Major Perk and doesn’t bring him any.  So the journey began and Chief Cook is how it started. We met with the city and they were so gracious to us and more in helping us find a location to build.”

The request came at a time when expansion was already on the Watson’s minds. Rachael states: “My husband and I have talked about opening a second location and with the invite from a nearby city, we had the feeling something bigger was in the works and that we should take the opportunity since it’s close and we are backed by the city.”

Major Perk made a major impact in its initial market of Weatherford, thanks to both its superior java and its dedication to honoring uniformed military personnel and first responders. The Watsons have no intentions of changing this successful formula, however the Fort Worth location will have a larger footprint-and promises to appeal to a younger audience. Rachael describes the storefront, saying: “The new location will be much like the Weatherford location but bigger!  Both locations will have dine in and drive thru options.  The one thing that may be slightly different would be that the new location has a designated play area inside for the littles and the seating will be of higher capacity.”

The Watsons are aiming to open Major Perk’s Fort Worth location in January or February of next year. Rachael offers this sneak peak for locals who simply cannot wait for a taste of what the cafe has in store: “We strive to provide quality products and services to our local drinking coffee community while doing it in a genuine friendly manner. We work hard to create a welcoming environment to both customers and employees. Lastly, we love to partner and collaborate with individuals, families and businesses to build peaceful communities.

Major Perk’s arrival is certain to be one greeted with open arms. The concept offers much more than a great cup of joe-as Rachael eloquently states: “We are a cozy coffee shop nestled in the community we love, serving locally roasted coffee with a smile. We are a place that offers convenience without sacrificing service. A business that honors our military and first responders every single day. A small business that gives back to our local community.”
