With 14 locations currently in operation—mostly in Washington, but with outposts in Kissimmee and Orlando, too—Kitanda Coffee is a “Brazilian Coffee shop that offers a welcoming ambiance, friendly service, and a variety of delicious products, giving the customers a taste of the vibrant culture of Brazil.”
The cafe chain’s growth appears to be continuing with another new location planned for Orlando. This week, What Now examined plan review paperwork submitted by Brazil Coffee Inc for a new Kitanda Coffee & Açaí, planned for 12028 Collegiate Way, Suite 110.
The menu at Kitanda Coffee and Açaí features single-origin coffee, açaí bowl varieties like the Lena (6 oz of organic açaí, granola [vegan, gluten-free and nut-free], banana, strawberry and condensed milk drizzle) and the São Paolo (10 oz of organic açaí, granola [vegan, gluten-free and nut-free], strawberries and condensed milk drizzle), and Kitanda Bread.
“Our famous Kitanda Bread is a cheesy Brazilian snack made from tapioca flour that is fluffy on the inside and satisfyingly crispy on the outside,” says the Kitanda website. “It is naturally gluten-free. This popular house specialty is typically served as a snack or breakfast food and is often enjoyed with coffee. Try it plain or as a sandwich!”
Opening in the Collegiate Way location, Kitanda Coffee and Açaí would join a restaurant community that includes Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Desi Bistro, Fat Shack, and Smoothie King, and the Dough Show.
