Dick’s House of Sport is headed to Washington Square Mall in Tigard, Oregon, and the project is moving fast. According to reports from KGW, new renderings released this week offer the first detailed look at the mall’s major refresh, with Dick’s House of Sport expected to open in fall 2027 on the site of the former Sears anchor on the northeast side of the shopping complex.

Dick’s House of Sport stores are typically two to three times larger than standard Dick’s Sporting Goods locations, and this one is no exception. The concept goes way beyond traditional sporting goods retailers, offering in-store experiences that include a climbing wall, multiple golf bays with TrackMan simulators, and HitTrax multi-sport cages for baseball, softball, and soccer, giving shoppers a chance to test gear and track their performance in real time.

Washington Square already operates a 90,000-square-foot DICK’S Sporting Goods store that opened in 2008, and the incoming House of Sport concept will be separate. This expansion is part of a broader reconstruction at Washington Square. The newly released renderings show modernized features throughout, including new flooring, paint, furniture, and enhanced lighting, as well as renovations designed to create a clearer path for shoppers to access the food court.

Washington Square General Manager Maria Halstead said the project is intended to strengthen the mall’s role as a shopping and dining destination. Over the past year, the mall has also welcomed several new openings and remodels, including fine jeweler Mejuri, Mediterranean clothing brand Mano, and refreshed storefronts for Athleta, Foot Locker, J. Crew, and Champs Sports. A new Vuori location is also planned to open this summer.
