After serving Coral Springs for 18 years, La Fontana Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant has announced it will close. The family-owned restaurant shared the news on social media with the final service planned for June 21, 2026.

La Fontana Announces Permanent Closure

La Fontana Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant is located at 2888–2890B N University Drive at The Walk at University in Coral Springs. The restaurant announced its closure on May 27, 2026. Owners Spartaco and Antonio confirmed that the restaurant’s final day will be on Father’s Day.

In the announcement, the owners called it a difficult decision. The post read, “La Fontana has been more than a restaurant — it has been our home, our passion, and a place where friendships were created, memories were shared, and families gathered around our tables year after year.”

The brothers also thanked loyal customers who supported the restaurant over the last 18 years. The owners also acknowledged the dedication of employees, saying, “To our incredible employees, some of whom have been with us for nearly 18 years, thank you for your dedication, hard work, loyalty, and heart. Your commitment helped build La Fontana into what it became, and we will forever appreciate everything you gave to this journey.”

The owners also expressed gratitude to the landlord and their family for their kindness. The owners are preparing to return to Europe and look ahead to new chapters.

Fans of La Fontana are shocked and sad about the closure. Patrons might visit the restaurant for their favorite meals before it shuts its doors.

18 Years of Authentic Northern Italian Flavors

Owned by brothers Spartaco and Antonio Tare, La Fontana Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant opened in 2008. The restaurant aims at sharing an essence of Northern Italy with the residents of Coral Springs.

The family-run restaurant took inspiration from their hometown of Ferrara in Italy. Traditional recipes, imported Italian ingredients, and a real wood-burning oven are the main attractions of the kitchen.

La Fontana became a neighborhood staple. It offered a cozy space for families, couples, and regular visitors, with a courtyard patio, outdoor seating, and a welcoming atmosphere.

The menu is centered around traditional Italian dishes. It is famous for its thin-crust wood-fired pizza, including the Margherita, Regina, Piccante, Capricciosa, and Vegetariana.

Homemade pastas, calzones, focaccia bread, panini, and fresh salads are also on the menu. Traditional appetizers include bruschetta, burrata with prosciutto, homemade meatballs, and calamari fritti. The menu extends beyond pizza with Italian-style meat and seafood dishes cooked in the wood-burning oven.

Dessert specialties include tiramisu, Nutellino, and Italian gelato. La Fontana built a legacy of nearly 20 years. Its traditions, wood-fired cooking, and loyal customer base made it a true part of the Coral Springs community.
