CJ McCollum, the former Portland Trail Blazers star and current Atlanta Hawks guard, and his wife, Elise, have officially launched McCollum Family Vineyard, a new wine brand rooted in their 318-acre estate in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA west of Carlton, Oregon. The couple is also planning seasonal tastings on the property in the near future, an early opportunity for wine lovers to experience the estate firsthand, while a permanent tasting room is still in the works, according to the winery’s team.

The announcement marks the next chapter in a winemaking journey the couple started back in 2020. The estate delivered its first small crop in 2024, and the debut release reflects that milestone, a $55 2024 pinot noir made from 48% estate fruit alongside grapes from two Adelsheim vineyards in the Chehalem Mountains. Two other wines are available under the new label: a 2023 chardonnay sourced from Adelsheim properties and a 2025 rosé. The wines are available through their website.

The new label builds on the foundation of McCollum Heritage 91, the brand the McCollums launched in collaboration with Adelsheim Vineyard six years ago. But McCollum Family Vineyard is something bigger, a direct expression of the estate they purchased in 2021 and have been slowly coaxing into production ever since. Think of it as McCollum Family Vineyard is Nike, and McCollum Heritage 91 is Jordan, this is how a spokesperson from the business told the Portland Business Journal.

While a permanent tasting room is still a couple of years away, the McCollums are already planning seasonal tastings on the property. Details are still being finalized, according to the winery’s team, who say updates will be shared once more information is available.
