What Now Austin spoke with franchise owners, who declined to provide an official opening date yet, but highlighted their excitement to bring the concept to Williamson County. Public filings indicate that construction is scheduled to be completed in October 2026.
Founded in 2024, Moka & Co is a specialty Yemeni café rooted in Yemen’s historic coffee legacy, with a mission to connect people through the universal language of coffee. The menu features traditional Yemeni beverages, specialty lattes, freshly baked pastries, and Middle Eastern sweets such as sabaya, a layered honey cake.
The franchise operators behind the Round Rock location shared with What Now Austin that the concept resonated with them during a visit to the brand’s Broadway location in New York City. They described immediately connecting with the warmth of the space and the idea of creating a similar environment back home.
“We immediately fell in love with the warmth of the space. We want Moka & Co to feel like an extension of home, a cozy living room for the community, where people can walk in as strangers and leave as friends,” they told this outlet.
Coffee sourcing remains central to the brand’s identity, with beans sourced from Yemeni farms and cooperatives and processed using traditional sun-drying methods passed down through generations. The operators added that their goal is to recreate a similar atmosphere in Texas, envisioning a welcoming, home-like space where guests feel comfortable from the moment they arrive. They summarized this vision by saying:
“We believe life is better when it’s shared. Whether it’s old friends catching up over coffee, families creating memories, colleagues meeting after work, or complete strangers who walk in and leave as friends.”
The Round Rock location would mark Moka & Co’s first Texas outpost, bringing its distinct blend of Yemeni hospitality and specialty coffee to the Austin metro’s growing northern corridor.
