Torchy’s Tacos is expanding its Texas footprint with a new location planned for Waxahachie. According to public filings, the Austin-based chain plans to open at 120 Bessie Coleman Blvd., Suite 102.
What Now Dallas spoke with a Torchy’s representative, who confirmed the restaurant is currently expected to open in the first half of 2027.
Founded in Austin in 2006, Torchy’s Tacos is known for its menu of specialty tacos, including fan favorites such as the Trailer Park, the Democrat, and the Fried Avocado Taco. The menu also includes queso, green chile pork, breakfast tacos served all day, and a rotating lineup of limited-time specialty tacos, along with margaritas and a full bar at most locations.
A company representative told What Now Dallas that Waxahachie’s growth made it a natural fit for the brand.
“Waxahachie stood out as a natural fit for Torchy’s because it’s a fast-growing community with strong momentum and a welcoming local culture,” the representative said. “We’re excited for the opportunity to become part of the area’s continued growth and introduce our Damn Good tacos to both longtime residents and newcomers alike.”
The Waxahachie location is part of a broader expansion strategy for the brand across North and Central Texas. “Torchy’s plans to continue expanding throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin markets, as well as across Texas, as we look for opportunities to bring the brand to more communities,” a Torchy’s Tacos representative told What Now Dallas. “With each new restaurant, we’re focused on creating local jobs and becoming an active part of the neighborhoods we serve.”
