A new waterfront dining destination could soon be coming to West Palm Beach.
Breakwater Hospitality Group, the Miami-based company behind popular venues including Regatta Grove in Coconut Grove and The Wharf Fort Lauderdale, has been selected to negotiate an agreement with the City of West Palm Beach to develop a signature restaurant at Currie Park as part of the city’s $35 million waterfront redevelopment, according to a release posted on the hospitality group’s website. No timeline has been established.
The proposed concept, Sea Salt Beach House, is described as a, “modern waterfront destination that extends beyond a traditional restaurant, creating a vibrant community gathering place along the Intracoastal”.
The approximately 378-seat venue would include indoor dining, covered terraces, and open-air seating. In addition, a 320-seat rooftop event space would be available to host weddings, community celebrations, civic functions, and other special events. The project is being designed in partnership with award-winning Bigtime Design Studios, best known for creating high-concept, high-style public space environments.
Founded in 2018 by Emi Guerra and Alex Mantecon, Breakwater Hospitality Group has become one of South Florida’s leading hospitality companies. In addition to Regatta Grove and The Wharf Fort Lauderdale, the company owns John Martin’s in Coral Gables and Pier 5 at Bayside in Downtown Miami, with additional projects in development.
