Shiso will serve its final restaurant guests on July 12 before beginning a new chapter as the Wynwood Event Center (WEC), a venue dedicated to private events, weddings, corporate gatherings and celebrations. The restaurant, located at 239 NW 28th Street in the heart of Wynwood, is run by chefs Raheem Sealy and Monika Dominguez. An official opening date for the new concept has not been announced.
Shiso announced the transition on Instagram, thanking customers for their support while looking ahead to the future.
“After July 12, Shiso will conclude its restaurant service as we transform the space into the Wynwood Event Center (WEC) — a new destination for private events, celebrations, weddings, corporate gatherings, and unforgettable experiences. We’re incredibly proud of what Shiso accomplished… While the restaurant is closing, the Shiso culinary team and cuisine will continue as one of the catering options available for private events at WEC. Thank you to everyone who dined with us and supported Shiso. We can’t wait to welcome you to this exciting new chapter.”
The transition marks the end of Shiso’s run as one of Wynwood’s acclaimed dining destinations. During its time as a restaurant, Shiso earned recognition from the Miami New Times Readers’ Poll, winning Best New Restaurant and Best Chef — Raheem Sealy.
Although the restaurant will close, its culinary team won’t disappear. The Shiso kitchen will remain part of the business, with its cuisine offered as one of the catering options available for private events hosted at the new venue.
