Downtown Orlando is getting a new restaurant from celebrity chef Joshua Adam Garcia, known as Chef Jag.

This week, DowntownOrlando.com announced that Davanti, the new restaurant from Chef Jag, will open at 410 N Orange Ave. (Another restaurant, Tropix, will open at 100 S Orange Ave, the coverage adds.)

“Recently, the Orlando Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has approved funding to support the opening of Tropix and Davanti that will bring new flavors and experiences to Orange Avenue,” the DowntownOrlando.com announcement said.

A classically trained chef, Chef Joshua Adam Garcia brings more than 30 years of experience to the table, with a special knack for “Latin Fusion cuisine spotlighting culinary creations heightened by classical French and traditional Italian influenced flavors,” says the chef’s website.

“Chef Joshua Adam Garcia, known for his Latin fusion dishes with French and Italian flavors on ‘Food Network Star,’ is bringing a fine-dining concept to downtown Orlando,” adds the Orlando Business Journal.

What Now reached out to Chef Joshua Adam Garcia on Friday to ask about Davanti. The chef declined to make any immediate comment, but What Now is hoping for an update soon, so stay tuned.

“Davanti will introduce French-inspired cuisine in an equally elegant full-service setting with seating for approximately 80 guests,” the DowntownOrlando.com coverage continues. “Led by chef Joshua Adam Garcia – who has more than 30 years of culinary experience and competed on a season of “Food Network Star” – Davanti will bring seasoned expertise and elevated dining to downtown Orlando. These new restaurants reflect the continued momentum of downtown Orlando’s restaurant industry and the CRA’s commitment to attracting quality dining experiences that serve residents, employees, and visitors alike.”
