The quick-service burrito chain will introduce Taco Bell Cantina to Atlanta near Georgia Tech.

The Taco Bell slated to open in the ground floor of the new University House apartment complex at 930 Spring St. NW, won’t be an ordinary version of the quick-service burrito joint, according to Eater Atlanta.

Instead, the chain will introduce its Taco Bell Cantina concept to Atlanta at the forthcoming outpost adjacent the Georgia Tech campus.

Taco Bell first introduced its Cantina concept in Chicago, and announced the new brand extension late 2015.

“These new urban restaurants are a critical part of our growth strategy in markets where people experience our brand differently,” said Brian Niccol, chief executive officer, Taco Bell Corp. “Today’s consumers are living in more urban settings and our new restaurants cater to their lifestyle in adapting our traditional restaurant concept to fit their modern needs.”

Taco Bell Cantina restaurants are the first and only Taco Bell restaurants to serve alcohol. Cantina restaurants also feature a new tapas-style menu of shareable appetizers – including nachos and rolled tacos – during designated hours each evening, in addition to the full standard Taco Bell Menu.

As for what type of adult beverages the soon-to-open Midtown Taco Bell Cantina will serve alongside its 88 cent burritos is unclear as it differs from outpost to outpost. For example, the San Francisco restaurant serves beer and wine only, while the Wicker Park store in Chicago serves beer, wine, sangria and twisted Freezes.
