Located at 1113 W State Rd 436 in Altamonte Springs, Mis Antojitos is a Mexican street food restaurant that invites you to “discover a variety of Mexican antojitos made with passion and the best fresh and local ingredients” (translation from Spanish ours and, as always, best seasoned with salt).

It’s a great place for savory foods, but co-owner Deire Rodriguez told What Now on Tuesday that what’s been missing so far is something sweet. Now, the team behind Mis Antojitos is preparing to fix that with a new dessert spot: Sweet Spot by Valentina. According to plan review documents submitted by Valentina Hospitality LLC, it will open next door at 1115 State Road 436.

“We’re waiting on permits and hoping to open by September,” Deire Rodriguez, an owner of the restaurant, told What Now on Tuesday.

Like at Mis Antojitos, the emphasis at Sweet Spot is on gluten-free offerings, Rodriguez says.

“I have Celiac, so everything is going to be gluten-free Mexican-American. It’s Mexican ice cream with very natural ingredients, paletas, and fresas con crema. We’re hoping to have gluten-free donuts too.”

Sweet Spot by Valentina will feature outdoor patio seating.

Stay tuned for the opening of Sweet Spot by Valentina!
