A new spot for Italian-style sandwiches is in the works in St. Petersburg. Opening at 2319 Dr M.L.K. Jr. St N, Mozza Paninoteca will offer “Artisan sandwiches, wine, Italian goods & soft cheeses.”

“The concept comes from local cheesemaker Michael Deininger, better known as ‘Mozzarella Mike,’ a St. Pete native who began hosting pop-ups and catering events last April centered around his freshly made mozzarella,” said coverage published about Mozza by St. Pete Rising earlier this year.

The restaurant is now viewable on Google Maps, which says Mozza will open on October 1.

Launching in the Dr M.L.K. Jr Street North location, Mozza will join restaurants like Blush Tea and Coffee, Neighborhood Joe, and Trip’s Diner.

A representative of Mozza Paninoteca could not be reached immediately for comment on Tuesday.

You can keep up with the opening by following @mozzastpete on Instagram.
