What Now reported last week on plans for Venice Crossing, an upcoming mixed-use development in Sarasota County, to include a new Home Depot location. But that’s only part of the story of Venice Crossing.
“A massive new shopping destination is taking shape on Laurel Rd in Nokomis,” said a post published this month in the North Port News and Traffic Report Facebook group. “Venice Crossing will be home to Walmart, Home Depot, Texas Roadhouse and other restaurant chains like Panda Express, Whataburger, and Chick-fil-A.”
The post says the first stores are expected to open by spring 2027.
Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Business Journal reports that the Texas Roadhouse in question will be Sarasota County’s first.
“Actually, it is not the first one,” says one comment on the Business Journal’s Facebook post. “There was a unit in the late 90s. It was the fifth one in the chain before Texas Roadhouse went public.”
With locations all over the county, Texas Roadhouse is known for offering “Legendary Food, Legendary Service.”
“If it doesn’t say Texas, it’s not Texas Roadhouse,” says the Texas Roadhouse website. “Legendary means Hand-Cut Steaks, Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs, Made-From-Scratch Sides, Ice-Cold Beer, and of course, our irresistible Fresh-Baked Bread.”
What Now is awaiting more details on the planned rollout of the new Texas Roadhouse location, so stay tuned.
