The Union Sky, a new rooftop restaurant and cocktail lounge, is planning a fall opening at 26 Union St. S. in downtown Concord.

The concept will occupy 3,085 square feet on the seventh floor of Novi Lofts, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

Entrepreneur Krushani Patel is developing The Union Sky with her husband, Ronak Patel. The couple plans to create a spot where guests can stop in for cocktails and dinner or celebrate occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries without heading into Charlotte.

The restaurant will have about 2,100 square feet indoors and a rooftop patio spanning more than 1,000 square feet, with room for roughly 75 guests, the publication says. An elevator will take visitors directly from street level to the seventh-floor venue.

The menu is expected to include pastas, burgers, flatbread pizzas, desserts, and bar bites, along with handcrafted cocktails.

Krushani Patel also owns Red Chillez Indian Restaurant and Kiddie Academy of Harrisburg.

Novi Lofts is part of the larger Novi at Concord development, which also includes Novi Rise and Novi Flats. A specific opening date for The Union Sky has not yet been announced.
