Peerspace, Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Court records do not specify the circumstances behind the filing. The San Francisco-based company operates an online marketplace connecting users with spaces for meetings, events, productions, and other activities.

According to a statement shared with WhatNow, Peerspace has voluntarily initiated a financial restructuring proceeding under Subchapter V of Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code to facilitate resolution of pending litigation matters. This filing is not a reflection of the company’s business operations or the health of its platform. The company expects to conduct business in the ordinary course throughout the restructuring process, with no anticipated impact to host listings, guest bookings, or payouts.

PACER record show that the company submitted its petition on August 30, 2026. The filing classifies Peerspace, Inc. as a small business debtor and states that the company is proceeding under Subchapter V.

Subchapter V provides a streamlined Chapter 11 process for qualifying small business debtors.

About Peerspace

Peerspace, Inc. operates as a global marketplace for rentable spaces, connecting guests with locations for personal and professional activities. Its listings include meeting rooms, photo studios, event venues, homes, restaurants, rooftops, and other spaces.

According to the company’s website, the platform launched in 2014 and allows property owners to list and rent out their spaces. Hosts can list spaces, set prices and availability, manage bookings, communicate with guests, and receive payments through the platform.

The website adds that it has more than 50,000 hosts and over 50,000 spaces across more than 1,000 cities worldwide.

Note: Chapter 11 allows businesses to reorganize their debts while continuing operations under court supervision. A filing does not necessarily mean that a business is closing.
