After nearly two years of service, a cherished coffee shop in San Antonio closes its curtains. Folklores Coffee House, a specialty coffee shop, permanently closed its second location in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. The team announced the closure on social media. One more location of the coffee shop in Government Hill will continue to serve the community.
Folklores Coffee House Says Goodbye
A San Antonio-based specialty coffee shop has decided to close its Beacon Hill location permanently. Located at 106 Michigan Avenue in San Antonio, this was the second location of Folklores Coffee House, which opened in January 2025.
On September 1, the team announced the closure in a social media post. Reflecting on the location’s nearly two-year run, the team wrote “Opening that shop was a leap of faith, and watching it become part of the neighborhood meant more to us than we can put into words.”
The coffee shop thanked the community, regular customers, and staff for their continued support. “We’re proud of what we built there, and we’re grateful we got to be part of Beacon Hill,” added the team.
Government Hill Location Remains Open
While the Beacon Hill location has shut down, the Folklores Coffee House story will continue with another location.
The coffee shop will remain operational and serve the community at its Government Hill location. The shop located at 1943 N New Braunfels Avenue in San Antonio, Texas, also plans to introduce fall flavors, according to the MYSA report.
In the post, the team did not share any official reason for the closing of the Beacon Hill location. Following the closure announcement, several customers expressed their disappointment on social media.
“That’s unfortunate, but hoping to see some old faces back at Govt Hill,” commented one customer.
Although the Beacon Hill location was open for less than two years, the team said it was grateful to have been part of the neighborhood.
