Nightingale Adds S’mores Ice Cream Sandwich to Its Lineup

According to PR Newswire, the new ice cream sandwich features chocolate toasted marshmallow ice cream, honey graham cookies, and ribbons of marshmallow fluff. The flavor is inspired by the traditional s’mores made around campfires.

The company said the product is intended to capture the taste of a toasted campfire s’more while using the handcrafted approach associated with its ice cream sandwiches.

The product began arriving at select Target locations in early September.

Partnership With the National Park Foundation

The S’mores Ice Cream Sandwich is part of an officially licensed collaboration between Nightingale and the National Park Foundation. According to the press release, sales from the collaboration will support the National Park Foundation, which supports the country’s national parks.

The partnership also reflects the connection between s’mores and outdoor recreation. Nightingale CEO and Co-Founder Hannah Pollack said some of her favorite childhood memories involved spending time outdoors. She is also an avid adventurer and has a personal goal of visiting every national park in the United States over the next five years.

Pollack said the company wanted the flavor to reflect the sense of adventure, wonder, and memories associated with spending time outdoors.

Amber Hanna, Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships, Licensing Strategy, at the National Park Foundation, said the organization was pleased to partner with Nightingale to highlight the tradition of making s’mores. In addition, this way ice cream consumers could support national parks.

Founded in 2016, Nightingale is based in Richmond, Virginia, and is led by Hannah Pollack and Xavier Meers. The sandwiches are made with 14% butterfat ice cream, homemade inclusions, and freshly baked cookies.

The company’s products are available at 6,500-plus chains and independent grocers across the U.S. These include Whole Foods Market, Kroger, Costco, Wegmans, Harris Teeter, and The Fresh Market.
