Screamers Soda is preparing to open its first Southern California store in Downtown Upland. The flagship dirty soda and float shop will combine the nostalgia of an old-fashioned ice cream counter with a menu of customizable drinks, colorful creations and flavors inspired by the founder’s Tennessee family roots.
The menu will feature made-to-order dirty sodas, ice cream floats, layered iced matcha drinks and kids’ milks. Guests can choose a signature recipe or create their own combination using familiar soda bases, flavored syrups, creams, fruit and toppings.
Soda sizes will include 10, 16 and 24 ounces, alongside the Mega Scream, a 54-ounce option. Guests looking to explore the menu can order the Scream Sampler, a flight of four 8-ounce drinks. Diet soda bases, sugar-free syrups and dairy-free alternatives will also be available.
Signature drinks will include:
  • The Big Scream: Dr Pepper with toasted marshmallow and vanilla, finished with a sweet cloud top.
  • Tennessee Twist: Cola with peach and vanilla, finished with a sweet cloud top, a nod to the founder’s Tennessee roots.
  • Strawberry Social: Lemon-lime soda with strawberry and coconut, finished with a sweet cloud top.
The float menu will include The Classic Scream, made with root beer, vanilla bean ice cream, whipped cream and a cherry.
The Screamers name draws from the familiar “I scream, you scream” ice cream tradition. That connection to shared treats and family memories shapes the concept, from its playful drink names to a welcoming atmosphere designed for meeting friends, taking an afternoon break or discovering a new favorite.
“Downtown Upland thrives when businesses give people new reasons to visit, connect and spend time here. Screamers Soda’s combination of nostalgic flavors, a creative menu and a commitment to supporting local youth makes it a welcome addition to our downtown community,” said Linda Trawnik, President Emeritus of Historic Downtown Upland, Inc in a statement.
Screamers plans to dedicate a portion of proceeds to local youth centers supporting young people in recovery from drug and alcohol use. The company will also offer catering for corporate events, weddings, birthdays and community gatherings throughout San Bernardino, Los Angeles and Orange counties.
An opening date will be announced. Menu updates and opening details will be shared at screamerssoda.com and on Instagram at @screamerssoda.
