BODYBAR Pilates is working on another Greater Houston region opening, this time in Memorial. According to a recently filed Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the new Pilates studio is planned to open at 9414 Gaylord Dr. in the Hedwig Village Shopping Center.
The permit further details that the construction project is expected to start next month and is slated to wrap up by February 2027. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated $139,605 construction project, the new BODYBAR Pilates studio should open in Memorial by next spring.
At the helm of the opening is franchisee Jennifer Rubino, who was also listed on the permit. What Now Houston reached out to Rubino to find out more about the upcoming opening. Unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time of this publication.

Steve and Laurie Gatlin opened the first BODYBAR studio in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in 2012. The company was incorporated in Texas on December 16, 2014. Kamille and Matt McCollum opened their own BODYBAR studio in Fort Worth, Texas, in 2016, after experiencing the workout as clients. They begin building foundational marketing and operational systems.
In 2019, the McCollums officially partnered with the original founders to take over executive leadership and scale the concept into a national franchise system. Over the course of the next few years, the brand expanded rapidly across multiple states, growing from 46 open studios at the start of 2025 to 73 open studios by the end of 2025.
This September, BODYBAR opened its hundredth studio in Presidio, hosting a large-scale event celebrating a hundred years of Pilates. There are now more than 15 BODYBAR Pilates studios in Texas, with at least four in the Greater Houston area.
What Now also reached out to McCollum to find out more about expansion plans. But we did not hear back by the time of this publication.
