Postern Coffee, which has been operating within Minhwa Spirits in Doraville, will be taking over the full Minhwa Spirits space as Minhwa relocates to the Westside Provisions District.
Postern Coffee made the decision to stay and expand their operations in Doraville.
“We have grown a pretty regular customer base here and just feel at home in this space,” said co-owner Joshua Owh. “So when the opportunity came up and the conversation came up, we wanted to stay, and hopefully grow our roastery.”
When Minhwa concludes service at the beginning of November, Postern Coffee will begin replacing their distilling equipment with their roasting equipment so they can expand their roastery operations.
While the drink menu will remain the same for Postern, featuring classic espresso beverages, matcha lattes and some additional specialty drinks, the pastry selection might expand. They are also hoping to expand the selection of Japanese sandos supplied by local business T3.
Postern Coffee plans to stay open through the transition.
Owh said they hope to continue to expand the wholesale side of their business and while they have no plans to expand to another location at this time, they will keep their eyes open for good opportunities.
