Raleigh’s longtime coffee destination Cup A Joe is preparing to expand with a third location, according to The News & Observer. The local family-owned company, which is coming up on 35 years in business, has signed a lease for a space at the intersection of Hillsborough and Gorman streets.

The property is a former restaurant space, and is less than a mile from its original location on Hillsborough Street. Cup a Joe is in the beginning stages of planning for the space currently. There is also a location in Mission Valley.

Andi Macko co-owns the venture with her father, Jeff Gold. The brand started in 1991, and has built a longstanding presence in the neighborhood, serving students, residents, and coffee enthusiasts.

Cup A Joe roasts its beans in-house. Online orders are generally roasted on the same day or the day after purchase. Its online selection includes the Cup A Joe Espresso Blend and La Minita Costa Rica coffee, alongside gift certificates and other offerings.
