Alice and Olivia is expanding its Greater Houston reach. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the new Alice + Olivia store is expected to open in The Woodlands within Market Street at 9595 SIX PINES DRIVE #STE. 980.

The permit also notes that construction for the new Alice + Olivia store is already underway and is slated to wrap up shortly after the beginning of December. If permitting goes smoothly and the estimated $626,000 construction project stays on track, the new Alice + Olivia boutique should open before the end of this year.

At the helm of the opening is the brand’s SVP of DTC Operations, Jessica Safchik, who was also listed on the permit. What Now Houston reached out to Safchik for more details about the expansion. Unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time of this publication.

“Led by CEO and Creative Director Stacey Bendet, ALICE + OLIVIA exemplifies women empowering women,” the Alice + Olivia website reads.

“Named after the daughters of Stacey Bendet’s mother’s closest friends, ALICE + OLIVIA was created to feel personal, playful and expressive from the very beginning.”

Bendet founded Alice + Olivia in New York City in 2002. She launched the brand out of a personal quest to design the perfect pair of low-rise, slim-fitting pants in bright colors and funky patterns. They showed their initial 20-item “just pants” collection in 2002 at the Russian Tea Room in New York City for fashion-industry insiders. Lisa Kline, a boutique owner in Los Angeles, spotted Bendet wearing her signature pants and placed the brand’s first major wholesale order. Soon after, the line was picked up by Barneys New York. Shortly after the launch, Theory founder Andrew Rosen joined as a business partner to help scale the company.

“Loved by celebrities including Meghan Markle, Beyoncé, Jessica Alba, Gigi Hadid and Kourtney Kardashian, ALICE + OLIVIA has also become known for standout collaborations spanning fashion, art and pop culture, including partnerships with Ford Bronco, Keith Haring, Basquiat, Disney and Starbucks,” the brand’s website reads.

“Experience the artistry of design made by women who understand the essence of modern femininity.”

What began as a trouser line grew into a full contemporary lifestyle collection. The catalog expanded to include ready-to-wear dresses, gowns, knitwear, footwear, handbags, eyewear, and accessories. The brand operates free-standing boutiques across the United States, Asia, and the Middle East, and is distributed through hundreds of luxury department stores and specialty retailers globally.

There are now 61 total free-standing Alice + Olivia stores globally, alongside being stocked in more than 800 department and specialty stores worldwide. At least three stores serve the Lone Star State, with only one in the Greater Houston region.

Until now.

Alice + Olivia is anticipated to open in The Woodlands within Market Street at 9595 SIX PINES DRIVE #STE. 980 by the end of this year.
