Mezza Mediterranean Kitchen & Tap is planning to open at 28120 Jefferson Ave. Suite A101, Temecula, according to a license application filed with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

The owners applied for a Type 41 on-sale beer and wine license for an eating place. Under ABC rules, this license allows beer and wine to be served with meals at a business that operates as a bona fide restaurant.

Details on the menu have not been released. Customers may expect Mediterranean dishes such as mezze such as hummus, baba ganoush, tabbouleh, and falafel with warm pita, along with Greek or fattoush salads. Grilled entrées such as chicken, beef, and lamb kebabs, shawarma and gyro plates, and rice pilaf may also be among the offerings.

The “Tap” in the name and the beer-and-wine license indicate that draft beer and wine will be part of the drink program.
