Several Atlanta-based celebrities are giving the restaurant biz a shot in Castleberry Hill.
Atlanta Dream star and two-time Olympic gold medalist Angel McCoughtry is looking to open McCoughtry’s Ice Cream in the forthcoming Castleberry Market development, at 185 Peters Street.
McCoughtry’s Ice Cream is the second celebrity-backed eatery announced this year for the area. Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is planning a restaurant, Old Lady Gang, nearby.
Although Angel announced earlier this year she’d open her own ice cream parlor, official plans weren’t filed with City of Atlanta until this week.
An estimated $69,210 could be spent building out the 1,000-square-foot space that would act as both a production facility and retail storefront.
Slated to open January 2017, McCoughtry’s Ice Cream would offer “healthier” options like vegan and lactose-free using natural ingredients.
