Southern Aged (formerly Nature’s Harmony) is moving forward with plans to relocate its Elberton, GA creamery to the forthcoming Lee + White Development.

The company, which crafts handmade cheeses, this week filed plans with City of Atlanta to buildout a 6,930-square-foot production facility at the soon-to-open project on the Westside.

“We wanted to find a property in an emerging area and love the proximity to the Beltline,” Julie Schoen, co-owner at Southern Aged, told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in an email Tuesday.

“We love the culinary theme that is growing at Lee + White and are excited to be with other great food producers. We will continue to make our European-style cheeses all by hand, but we look forward to making more special edition cheeses with local breweries and bringing fresh cheese curds to Atlanta-area chefs.”

Southern Aged is expected to open its new creamery in March or April 2017 and could include a retail shop “in the future,” Schoen said.

Southern Aged will join Monday Night BrewingDoux South Pickles, and Honeysuckle Gelato at the Beltline-adjacent project.
