Papyrus could soon open a second Buckhead location, the American stationery and greeting card retailer’s second store in all of Georgia.

Plans Tuesday were filed with City of Atlanta to buildout Papyrus in Suite 1047B of Phipps Plaza, at 3500 Peachtree Street.

An estimated $145,000 could be spent building out the 1,242-square-foot retail store in the high-end Buckhead mall, replacing the now-shuttered K-La Boutique.

Papyrus’ existing Buckhead store is situated in Lenox Square, the mall across the street that shares the same owner as Phipps.

Papyrus Lenox Square will remain open, a manager for the stationery and greeting card retailer told What Now Atlanta on a visit to the store.

The new location would help satisfy Papyrus’ custom stationary business, the highest driver of revenue for the Lenox Square store, he said.

Papyrus, which is privately owned, has more than 450 locations nationwide.
