The casual Italian eatery this week filed plans for the relocation.

Figo Pasta, an Atlanta-based chain of casual Italian eateries, is looking to move its Buckhead location across the street.

A building permit application this week was filed with City of Atlanta to buildout space, at 2080 Defoor Avenue NW, for Figo Pasta, only “265.5 feet” from the existing location, at 1170 Collier Road NW, according to Google Maps.

Poopak Mahdavi and Sandro Romagnoli, the wife and husband team behind Figo Pasta, in a telephone interview Monday told What Now Atlanta the planned relocation is an effort to increase the footprint of the Buckhead restaurant.

The space on Defoor Avenue is 2,756-square-feet and could cost an estimated $100,000 to buildout including “a new roof covering at an existing patio area.”

Perhaps Figo Pasta got the idea from its soon-to-be-neighbor Papa Johns, the pizzeria that late last year moved its Collier Road location across the street to the same shopping center on Defoor Avenue.

The new Figo Pasta Buckhead could open in April, Mahdavi said, who wanted to wait until March to discuss the relocation.
