According to a recent Dayton Daily News article, the Taco John’s located at 8155 Highland Pointe Drive has recently closed, but plans are in place to open a new concept in the space. The Taco John’s building was new construction and opened last spring by Meritage Hospitality Group, a Michigan based franchise group who also operates Wendy’s restaurants along with being franchisees for the concepts Morning Belle and Stan’s Tacos.

What Now Columbus reached out to a representative with Meritage Hospitality Group to learn details about what the new concept will be and the anticipated timeline for reopening the restaurant, but a request for comment was not immediately returned.

However, the Dayton Daily News article quotes a statement from the hospitality group in reference to the closure, “In regard to future plans, we intend to reopen as a different concept and look forward to once again serving the community in days to come.”
