As first reported by the Dayton Business Journal, El Toro Mexican restaurant is making plans to expand next year. The family-owned eatery currently has over a dozen El Toro restaurants open throughout the Dayton area, with three other concepts within its group of restaurants, which include El Toro Express, Vallarta Mexican Seafood Restaurant and Toasted Brunch Bar + Café that opened in Beavercreek in the fourth quarter of this year.

El Toro plans to open its next eatery at 3920 Far Hills Ave, in Kettering, which is the former home of OinkADoodleMoo BBQ. The 1,700-square-foot establishment will be an El Toro Express, which aims to offer an abbreviated menu of El Toro’s most popular items quickly, while also offering a drive-thru for fast casual dining options that are also convenient.

Enrique Alvarez, the district manager for El Toro and Vallarta and owner and operator of Toasted Brunch Bar + Cafe, shared with What Now Columbus that the Kettering project is still in the beginning stages. The plans have been submitted to the city, but haven’t been approved and finalized yet.

Alvarez anticipates opening the Kettering El Toro Express within the first six months of 2025.
