UPDATE (August 30, 2018): Guy Wong’s Miso Ko Sushi Counter To Open September 8
Chef Guy Wong of Miso Izakaya, Ton Ton, and Le Fat, is launching Miso Ko in Old Fourth Ward.
The sushi concept will occupy a market stall in Ponce City Market, Wong Monday announced on his personal Instagram page.
“Featuring grab-and-go offerings and seated-dining, Miso Ko will serve made-to-order sashimi, nigiri, hand rolls, makimono, specialty rolls, and more,” according to a spokesperson.
The sushi kiosk will adjoin Ton Ton on the first floor of the Central Food Hall, across from Biltong Bar on the northern, Ponce de Leon Ave entrance, offering high-back barstool seating for a dozen guests.
“Designed with rich, red accents, Miso Ko will feature a tiled counter, wood paneling, and suspended drapes. Guests seated at the bar will be able to watch sushi as it’s made to order, or they can pick up sushi to-go from the counter.”
The news of Miso Ko follows the approval of a liquor license for sister concept Ton Ton, which will now serve sake, beer, and cocktails.
Mike Hsu, the restaurateur behind the once-gold-laced Aurum in Metropolis, seems to be involved in the project on some level—his name is on at least one document associated with the sushi concept.ng…
