Mocha Pops, a handcrafted popsicle maker with carts and stands throughout the city, is planning a brick-and-mortar retail location downtown.
Situated in the historic Healey Building, at 57 Forsyth Street NW, Mocha Pops will occupy suite 59-A, a 253-square-foot corner storefront.
Permits this week were submitted to the City of Atlanta to buildout the forthcoming Mocha Pops.
Keisa Manning, the company’s founder, confirmed the news in a telephone call with What Now Atlanta Thursday.
An opening timeline has not been determined.
Mocha Pops got its start serving coffee-centric flavors like The Mocha Pop (expresso, chocolate, cream, vanilla, sugar) and the Cuban Wakeup (espresso, chai, cream, vanilla, sugar, cream, salt.)
Coffee-less options like Peach Pineapple (peaches, pineapple, vanilla, sugar) are also on the menu.
More retail could be coming to the Healey Building.
The commercial component—50,000-square-feet—in February was acquired by Joel and Granot Real Estate and investor Dion Meltzer.
Under the partnership, the property will undergo a $1.5 million renovation.
Atop the ground-level retail, home to concepts like Cafe Lucia, Naan Stop, and Rosa’s Pizza, are condominiums.
