UPDATE (August 21, 2018): American Roadhouse in Virginia-Highland To Close August 26, Reopen as Truva II

Turkish restaurant Truva II is coming to the Poncey-Highland neighborhood at 842 North Highland.

Owner and restaurateur Muzo Saritas confirmed the news with What Now Atlanta in a recent phone call.

The new restaurant will closely resemble the original Truva, which is located downtown near Peachtree Center and will replace American Roadhouse.

According to permits, the renovation budget is $80,000 and will include a “facelift,” new furniture, tile, paint and bar counter. No kitchen work is expected in the 1,800 square foot restaurant space.

Per Saritas, Truva II is a separate restaurant from the previously announced restaurant planned for the former J&J Bourbon Bar location. Earlier this year, Saritas confirmed the news that he would be taking over the space at 742 North Highland as well.

In addition to the new restaurants and the original Truva, Saritas owns Cuts steakhouse and two Metro Diner Cafes.

  • #842 North Highland Avenue, NE is in Virginia-Highland – not Poncey-Highland. This format sounds wonderful and a great addition to our existing restaurant array. Now – will be looking forward to what this owner has planned for the empty bourbon bar space to replace the ugly botched storefront.
