King of Pops is opening a second Ponce City Market concept.
Called O4W Beach Bar, the new Old Fourth Ward food stall is set to open Thursday, July 19, according to a press release Tuesday.
O4W Beach Bar is in addition to the company’s King of Pops Bar in the mixed-use redevelopment.
“With all the love and support weʼve had from our community we are now able to add a second home in Ponce City Market in an outside courtyard container beside the Rooftop entrance,” according to the release.
Local street artist Jimmy Jam Boom Bam has designed a “rad mural” for the space.
“Weʼve been thinking about a beach bar since we were backpacking around in Mexico,” Nick Carse, King of Pops co-owner, said in the release.
“We donʼt have the beach, but we definitely have the bar. Come out and see our lifeguards and get a Boozy Slushie, my favorite is the Blackberry Dark & Stormy.”
During the O4W Beach Bar grand opening starting at 12 p.m., piña colada slushies in cored, whole pineapples with a “silly umbrella” will be served, alonside other alcohol-infused slushies, snacks, and of course pops.
