W Atlanta Midtown Hotel is undergoing a multimillion-dollar “full renovation” of the property’s interior, a company spokesperson Thursday confirmed in an email to What Now Atlanta.
Renovations began in 2017 when the W Atlanta Midtown’s meeting spaces were overhauled.
Upgrades to the hotel’s entrance, welcome desk, “living room” (W’s take on a lobby), guest rooms and suites will soon follow, she said.
The guest room renovation will start at the beginning of August and the living room in September.
All of the work is expected to be completed by the beginning of 2019.
It’s unclear what the renovation will cost in total but a permit application filed with the City of Atlanta this week for the lobby remodel portion carries a $2,200,000 price tag.
The renovations are in conjunction with the “re-imagination” of Colony Square which offers direct access to the W Atlanta Midtown.
This is sooooo needed. Really happy to hear that the W Midtown is playing along with the Colony Square overhaul. It was arguably the worst W Hotel in the whole portfolio.
