Koreatown later this year will be home to Umaya Ramen.

The Japanese “food hall” will open in a corner unit on the ground floor of the Morgan Lofts midrise, at 3324 Wilshire Blvd, according to signage at the space.

A manager for the original Umaya Ramen, in Cerritos since 2012, confirmed the news with What Now Los Angeles in a telephone conversation.

Umaya Ramen could open before the end of the year, early-2020 at the latest, they said.

It will offer the same food as in Cerritos—ramen and fusion dishes like the Japanese Curry Jambalaya—but in a larger space.

Plans also call for the restaurant to stay open later in keeping with the nearby nightlife.
