Nicholas Tolson and Mitchell Lindsay of LAURI Group over the weekend proposed a 56-unit apartment community in San Pedro’s Vinegar Hill Historic District to the Neighborhood Council’s Planning and Land Use Committee.

LAURI Group was specifically requesting a variance for a “reduced setback” allowing for additional parking and housing.

If approved, the residential mid-rise, at 420-424 W. 9th Street, would offer 50 market-rate and six “extremely low-income” units.

The apartments would be available in studio and one-bedroom options and would be a four-story building over a one-story on-grade parking garage.

Shared community amenities would include two courtyard areas and two rooftop decks.

The San Pedro Apartments, as it’s temporarily being called in the proposal, would have 33 parking spaces and several “transportation incentives” including pre-loaded TAP Cards, E-Scooter and bike docking stations, ridesharing credits and discounts, E-Cargo Bikes, and partnerships with area employers.
