An application for a tavern to be located at 921 E. Ogden Ave. has been submitted to the city, according to a special-use permit filed.

“The establishment will periodically offer a live DJ as well as live music on less frequent occasions,” a letter sent to Las Vegas Planning and Development said.

At around 800 to 1,000 square feet, the establishment hopes to provide a gathering place for locals living within the immediate downtown area. Moving into an old meeting grounds for the Knights of Columbus, the bar would sit between Ninth and Tenth Streets on Ogden Avenue mere blocks from the heart of downtown Las Vegas.

During a planning commission meeting Tuesday, the special use permit was approved by a vote of six to zero.

Owner Christopher Breksa declined to comment for the story when reached Thursday by What Now Las Vegas.
