Ameia Hill hopes her restaurant opening next month will be the start of something special.
Going into Central West Las Vegas submarket on the 1900 block of Decatur Boulevard, Hill plans to put her love of cooking to good use.
“Owning a restaurant is a dream that I’ve always wanted to do and never go to,” she explained. “I’ve been cooking ever since I could remember and have a passion for opening a restaurant.”
As the name might suggest, Roots Sea and Soul Food, the specialties will be seafood and soul food with a particular emphasis on soul food.
Already an accomplished author, Hill hopes to have the menu for the new restaurant up this week with an opening date set for the end of April or beginning of May.
“Renovation will be done by the end of April,” she added. “My son and I are taking a leap of faith and want to see where it goes from there.”
Roots Sea and Soul Food will be moving into a 6,600 square foot space within the Lake Mead Decatur Shopping Center. Other nearby businesses include Tri Color Bakery, Carl’s Jr and Smart & Final Extra!
