Owner Ricardo Yanes hopes to open his next taco shop by August.
“This will be our fifth location, we’re all over Vegas, three on the west side and two on the east side,” he told What Now Las Vegas. “We’re still building the place out. It was empty for a few years and is an older structure.”
With two locations on Flamingo Road, one on Rainbow Boulevard, and one on Durango Drive, Yanes felt like now was the time to extend to other parts of the city.
After growing its name on the west side, Yanes wants Durango Tacos to be a household name in every corner of Vegas.
Opening at the Tropicana Centre at 3055 E. Tropicana Ave., Durango Tacos hopes a densely populated established market that sees nearly 75,000 cars a day will be a perfect place to continue to grow.
Inspired by authentic Mexican dishes and taco shops from Jalisco, Mexico, Durango Tacos opened in April 2017. Specialties include its Carne Asada tacos and Al Pastor tacos.
Yanes said the plan is to open restaurant number five in the late summer.
“We want to be open by August,” he added.
Next, Yanes has his sights set on Henderson for expansion.
